World Championship Registration and Travel Fundraiser

We are the SWLA Tech Pirates. Our mission is to shape and develop students with skills in engineering, teamwork, leadership and to inspire students to be creative and innovative in an ever-so changing world of technology. We allow all parishes in Region 5 an opportunity to build upon conventional forms of advancing STEM education with science, technology, engineering, and math. This program impacts private, public and homeschool students from 9th–12th grade with skills including building inside and outside of the regular classroom setting and working as a team to solve a collective goal each year. Our team has successfully built a robot in 8 weeks and have competed at 2 competitions: Magnolia Regional: March 15-18, 2023 We placed 5th out of 29 We went into Final Playoffs as the 3rd alliance captain and sadly didn't make it to semi finals. We received the Quality Award for the regional. The Quality Award celebrates machine robustness in concept and fabrication. Bayou Regional: March 29 - April 1, 2023 We placed 19th out of 39 We were asked to join the 3rd alliance for playoffs. We then went on to perform a perfect playoff with 0 losses and 3 wins. We went into Semi-Finals with a perfect score of 0 losses and 2 wins. We then went into finals with 2 losses and 1 win due to one of our alliances robots arm being damaged in our second finals match. But we successfully completed the competition as a finalist in second place! We were awarded a Wild Card which allows us to compete at the 2023 FIRST Robotics Competition World Championship. We will be competing with almost 500 robotics teams from around the world in Houston, TX on April 18-23, 2023. We are seeking monetary donations to allow us to pay the registration fees as well as travel, lodging, meals and other necessary equipment to allow our team to attend and compete at the World Championship. We appreciate any assistance you may provide as a simple $1 donation can go a very long way in helping us obtain our goal and to continue the education and experience for our team members that have worked over 275 hours in the last 9 weeks to produce a sought after and successful robot. If you are a business wishing to donate more than $499 please feel free to submit a digital payment and/or follow the link below to submit your sponsorship form and check via mail.
